She's right, you know but her Grandpa will also tell you she talks too much.
It's true, I do eavesdrop on a regular basis but creators are allowed to do that. Take God for instance.
Where would we be if he/she had no interest in our personal problems? Another black hole.
Don't get me wrong - I do have a life. I have a wonderful husband and three fabulous and outrageous kids. I live in a big house in the country next to the ocean and the mountains. I read a lot of spiritual/metaphysical books and do a weekly yoga class. In and amongst the daily craziness, I try to eke out time for fine art, cartooning and writing. My past includes almost twenty years in the advertising business and many, many untold hours
fiddling with oil paints, chalk pastels, watercolour, pen and ink (and you-name-it) in the bid
to become a "real" artist.

Her name is Sandra Lamb and she's kind of like "Big Brother" around here - you know, always watching us and taking notes and drawings. Then she spends some time thinking and arranging these things in interesting and unusual ways so that people can laugh at us. I know she thinks of us as a kind of "parallel universe" where art reflects life in a kind of sarcastically rehearsed way. She thinks of it as a creative outlet but I think she's just plain nosy. It's a good thing my mom
doesn't know about this. |
